1,000 Show to Wobble for the Lawton Food Bank
An amazing show of support was seen at the Inaugural Gobble Wobble Thanksgiving Day walk/run. Over 300 children participated in the Princess Run and Little Dude Dash and around 500 crossed the finish line for the Gobble Wobble 5K walk/run. In all, it is estimated there were approximately 1,000 in attendance to support the Lawton Food Bank.
The event, which was started to collect holiday food for the local food bank was considered a huge success with $2,550 in cash raised, and over 3,478 pounds of food donated from caring and generous families and groups from our community! According to Food Bank statistics, the money alone will provide enough food for 12,500 meals.
Runhers would like to thank the community for their outpouring of care and support.
“It was exciting to see so many children and families together on Thanksgiving—helping others in need," said Lori Cummins, local runhers coordinator. "It truly represented the spirit of Thanksgiving!”
